Wow! A wonderful workshop last week held at Firestation Print Studio with the fab Neil Wallace!
Science meets Art and it was so much fun! Neil very ably went through the history and methods of this printmaking process and then let us loose to experiment on our own. It was a real thrill discovering the subtleties of how the effects of the solutions reacted when exposed to light and we were blessed with enough sun on the day to see the changes so quickly with so many varying shades of that gorgeous cyan blue!
It was interesting learning the basics to see how it all comes together. I was fascinated at how different handmade papers with their unique textures printed up but I have to say I really loved it on fabric! We used a number of objects like lace, photographic images and even keys! Of course my favourite was leaves!
Really enjoyed the day and can’t wait to do more! Thanks to Neil I’m hooked! Also thanks to Edith for organizing such a cool workshop at Firestation!
