So I’ve noticed my ‘scrap’ and offcut boxes have been getting too full to put the lids on...what better way to reduce this stash than by making some scappy quilts!?!
When I have my workshops in the studio, I start off by demonstrating the basics. These ‘demos’ get put into a box along with offcuts, samples and any other pieces I don’t use.

I’ve found it very handy to store them away for another day in a few colour groups. This makes it super easy to find a particular colour as well as being able to check at a glance, how much fabric I’ll be playing with!
This mini scrap quilt has been made up of various pieces which I roughly placed in position first, to check that I liked the balance. Some quick chain piecing and now she’s ready for quilting! AND my stash has reduced!! Feeling quite pleased with myself for being productive and thrifty to boot!
